Together with the Fantastic Freeriding 2 label compilation CD, Switchstance Recordings hereby releases the first of two vinyl EPs with the tracks from the album, catering to all you DJs and black gold lovers out there.
The Ancient Astronauts' heavy nodder "Mexican Loneliness" - whose red sun renders the mouth dry and dusty - opens up the EP. Protassovs "Stupid Pillow (Hint Remix)" is a remix by the new Hombre/Ninja Tune talent with a hint to R'n'B. Handclappin' good! Kabanjak - a moniker of Ingo Möll - is representing here with "Zumbala", an airy funk take with wide layers and a catchy guitar lick.
Four-headed jazzfunk beast Deela is also heard again here: "Enjoy" is a vivid uptempo chiller for B-boys in the band's best live tradition. "Patterns Of Force" by Protassov & Alexander, aka Switchstance's nodmaster Protassov alongside label don Tom Strauch, serves as a melancholic reflection, while Kabanjaks "Chinese Reverie" - a spacious Tai-Chi daydream - gently closes the EP.
